Casual Wedding Dresses

Wedding is a very special affair and even in few years ago, people used to plan and prepare its dresses taking months together. Those were the days when wearing formal traditional wedding dresses was almost mandatory. But, with change in lifestyle and people's attitude towards social ethos, formal bridal dresses are gradually receding giving way to the next generation casual wedding dresses.

Shifting of marriage venues from churchyards to backyards has also contributed greatly in encouraging using casual wedding dresses. If you are planning to solemnize your much awaited marriage ceremony secretly in an isolated island, will you bother to go for the minute details of a formal nuptial? Collecting short informal dresses will certainly be your first preference then. Such informal dresses have their inherent advantages over their counterparts. Opportunity of creating one's own personalized wedding dresses also exists with the casual wedding attires. Seeing great potential, designers and manufacturers are also now days busy developing exotic and relaxing casual marriage dresses.

Depending upon the place of celebration, nature and design of your casual wedding dresses should be decided. Marriage at one's own backyard with complete family gathering requires sober and decent dresses. If it is a hot summer evening, you must not choose something that may help you sweat further. A nice designer strapless may fulfill your requirement. You may also go for sleeves, if you feel uncomfortable with the strapless exposures. A square or v-shaped neckline may be chosen to suit your taste. With casual bridal dresses, there exist actually unlimited options to choose ideal marriage attires. Few very common examples of informal marriage outfits are halter neckline, designer silhouettes, sleeves, waistlines, skirts with matching jackets, bridal trains, etc.

Devil's Night

I was so inspired by the Tim Burton spread in Bazaar I blogged about a few weeks ago (and also these bad ass Chloe boots) a friend and I decided to dress up as Beetle Juice and Edward Scissorhands, respectively. Here is my Eddie inspired outfit, perfect to wear while shaping your topiary plants.

Also check out Design*Sponge's fantastic Eddie Scissor post.

Have a happy and safe Halloween weekend!

Cozy up

Now that all, or at least most of my fall purchases have been made, I can reflect on the goods I bought. I think my hands down favorite new item is the Navajo sweater I was jonesing for. After seeing all the amazing styles from Opening Ceremony's collaboration with the old school American brand, Pendleton (see below), I was sold. These cool, casual sweaters are as classic as they are cozy.

Some amazing styling from Teen Vogue grunge inspired spread, "Finding Nirvana".

I absolutely love this loud sweater jacket from Opening Ceremony.
In case you can't afford the $500 price tag of the sweater above, this JCPenny, American Living, Navajo cardigan is much more affordable. Ignore the mom styling, it had a much more flattering photo in the September Issue of Lucky Magazine.

My favorite cozy buy of the season, a vintage Pendleton from ebay for $60!
Every time I receive a new J.Crew catalog these days I get so excited to check out the innovative styling inside. The November catalog definitely took it to the next level, and since I'm trying to refrain from spending on new clothes, this will be the perfect styling idea guide to work from.

Love the juxtaposition of the sequin skirt with the puffy vest.

Simple, casual, but put together.

Perfect to step out in for the holidays.

We know I love my menswear.

I just don't know how they could get any better.

Fashion Homophone

Apparently everyone knows I love a fashion homophone, because yesterday two separate people sent me them. In honor of Halloween being just a few days away, I thought I would share these mundane objects disguised as something else.

Tim sent me this suit dressed as a tote.

My Creative Director sent me a piece of loose leaf paper costumed as a wallet.

Where I'd like to be Monday

This particular Monday is off to a rough start. Where I'd like to be today is playing dress up, gossiping and being silly with my favorite people in a fabulous Williamsburg loft, just like cutie Peaches Geldof and her friends.

(Sadly, I can't remember where these photos are from.)

Tim, you are the first person I am inviting to this sleepover :)

Crimes of Fashion

Even though I'm not that into crime dramas, I'm a sucker for TV/fashion cross over, and this month Bazaar teams up with the cast of Law and Order and asks, "would you kill for the perfect outfit?" Maybe I watch too much Dexter or maybe I just love clothes too much, but I have contemplated doing some evil things for any of the items in my last two posts.

Kyle, this one is for you.
